2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

Serving Jersey City, NJ

The midsize Grand Cherokee has held solid appeal among Hudson-area SUV shoppers. This premium, two-row model benefited from a next-generation refresh last year and has a few additional improvements for the 2023 model year. The Grand Cherokee 4xe debuted the previous year as a plug-in hybrid variation of the Grand Cherokee. Our Hudson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram team often answers questions about the critical differences between these models, and we are excited to help you learn more today.

Performance

Two gas engines are offered across the Grand Cherokee's trims, and the Grand Cherokee 4xe has one engine available. The base gas engine is a 3.6-liter V6 option that produces 293 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive are available. The Grand Cherokee's other powertrain is a 357-horsepower V8, and it is only offered as an option for the Overland and Summit trims. The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe's powertrain is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, plug-in hybrid unit that generates 375 horsepower. These latter two powertrains have standard four-wheel drive.

Appearance

Visually, it may be challenging to differentiate the 2023 Grand Cherokee from the Grand Cherokee 4xe. They both carry the model's recognized boxy shape with sophisticated pinstripe accents. These accents line the square wheel wells, the lower doors, and the hood. Both models also display a short, wide grille with rectangular design elements. Their grilles are combined with rectangular headlights, a prominent lower fascia, and square-like ports for the foglights. Both models have up to 21-inch wheels, trailering equipment, tow hooks, rain-sensing wipers, heated and power-folding mirrors, all-terrain tires, and roof rails.

Features

The Grand Cherokee is well-known for incorporating luxury and innovation with rugged capabilities. You will be pleased to discover that many of the 2023 Grand Cherokee's features are also offered with the Grand Cherokee 4xe. Shared equipment includes a 10.1-inch central display screen, a digital driver's panel, a night vision camera, front-row memory settings, a four-zone auto climate control system, a head-up display, heated front, and rear seats, numerous assistive driver's technologies, a premium audio system, ambient lighting, leather seats, a navigation system, and others.
